He has been working on post- and pre-exposure prophylaxis research and practice since 1997, including leading the iPrEx studies and starting the UCSF Sexual Health Improvement Project and helping with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's PrEP services. He works closely with health care providers and PrEP users to identify and share best practices for "how to PrEP."
