Community Educators and Advocates Blog

This page is for community educators and advocates, who foster discussions and disseminate information through mass media, educational activities, small group discussions, and one-on-one meetings. Community education is an essential aspect of effective PrEP use. Educational programs are important for a variety of stakeholders who will be involved in deciding how PrEP should be included in national and local plans for HIV epidemic control.  Community education also shapes appropriate demand for PrEP.  Demand for PrEP can arise from people who will benefit the most from PrEP if public messages are candid and framed with respect to people’s social, sexual, and reproductive goals.
